It is still astonishing to me, even after more than 25 years of practice, how effective a compassionate therapeutic relationship can be in healing people who have felt so deeply alone and stuck in old patterns of relating and behaving with others. I have witnessed and been involved in this transforming process of psychotherapy and psychoanalysis over and over again.

It can be difficult and scary to dive into painful and confusing thoughts and emotions, but the benefits are numerous. Long-lasting feelings of depression can be lifted, and debilitating symptoms of anxiety can be lessened, making way for a different, more joyous way of living. I love being part of this progression.

I have specialties in work with survivors of incest and sexual abuse, couples therapy and parenting issues, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer adolescents and adults, as well as experience working with dissociation due to childhood trauma and to racial trauma, dislocation and immigration. Other areas of interest are: psychedelic-integration therapy, and therapy for eco-anxiety and grief. I also am EMDR-certified and find that this can be helpful as an adjunctive treatment when my patients feel stuck in certain areas of their lives.
